CDBS / Medicare Details

Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)

The CDBS is a government dental benefit that may cover all of the cost of eligible basic dental services for eligible children aged 0–17. Eligible children can receive up to $1,158 in CDBS benefits over 2 consecutive calendar years, subject to eligibility, available balance and applicable CDBS rules.

At Bloom Dental Smiles we’ll confirm each child’s Medicare and CDBS eligibility before our visit, ensuring eligible children can access bulk-billed dental care with no out-of-pocket cost to their families.

What is included in the appointment?
Our standard children's appointment includes a dental check-up, professional teeth cleaning and fluoride application, where clinically appropriate. The appointment also includes an oral health assessment and personalised oral health education and advice for your child.

If your child is CDBS eligible: eligible services may be claimed through the CDBS, subject to the child's available balance and applicable Medicare requirements.

What if your child is not CDBS eligible:?

Your child can still receive care at Bloom Dental Smiles. We offer a discounted fee of $90 for children who are not eligible for CDBS.

Any applicable fees and treatment costs will be discussed with the parent or guardian before treatment.
